FORT WORTH, TEXAS, MAY 25, 2023 — The FWPD Cold Case Support Group is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, www.fwpdcoldcasesupport.org. The website is designed to increase awareness of the organization’s mission and to facilitate donations to support the criminal investigative efforts of the Fort Worth Police Department Cold Case Unit.

FWPD Cold Case Support Group is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides resources to help solve cold case homicides in Fort Worth. All donations made to the organization are utilized by the Fort Worth Police Department Cold Case Unit, but remain unattached from any city funding. This ensures that every dollar donated goes directly towards supporting the investigative efforts of the Cold Case Unit.

The Fort Worth Police Department Cold Case Unit is comprised of detectives who have been specially trained to revisit homicide cases that were unable to be solved by previous detectives. Their primary function is to utilize current police tactics in the investigation, as well as applying the most up-to-date forensic technology toward examining the existing evidence.

The FWPD Cold Case Support Group was established to provide additional training, equipment, and forensic analysis which would otherwise be unavailable or unreasonably delayed to Cold Case detectives. Due to budgetary constraints, providing these resources can be challenging for the city of Fort Worth.

The launch of the new website will enable individuals to easily make donations to support the FWPD Cold Case Support Group‘s mission. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a big impact in helping bring closure to the families of the victims and bringing justice to the perpetrators.
